Amalgam

I couldn't resist adding this to yesterday's post. Tess is smelling the proverbial roses.

I was anxiously and excitedly awaiting the bloom of this giant bud on the cactus. I noticed in the middle of the night that it had opened, but I couldn't take a decent picture and I was going to wait until the morning...

Alas, some creature ate half of it during the remaining hours til morning and I was soooo disappointed. I sprinkled cayenne pepper around the remaining flower.

The bloom is as big as the cactus
