Party for the Sweetie

Maybe I went overboard, but that's me. I'm so happy Randy's home, so we had a party and invited a few friends. He says we should have more..

Cookies, Trifle, Shortcake, Crostata, Ice Cream, Gelato, Tart + Appetizers and Chilled White Wine. The ice cream, gelato and other desserts were all homemade.

Everyone parted with a gift, one of the plate/dessert stands I made (look for them in a previous posting).

Big Trees Handmade Book

I'm starting a book project, a place to house the photos of some of the big tree portraits I've taken in the past two or three years. The paper is a French fold with a perfect binding. The stick is sewn to the spine. The cover is an embossed tree imprint and then watercolor painted.

New Dress

This is my first sewing project without a pattern. I cut the skirt from linen and was thinking about how to do the top when I noticed a t-shirt that I had modified because I didn't like the fit but loved the collar. I merged the two but haven't had the courage to make the final cut yet. Maybe a few more fittings...

Fabric Stamping

I made a set of napkins for a hostess gift today. The design comes from the bottom of a glass and a cork. The sunset colored napkin design comes from the bottom of a gin bottle and a cork. This was a warm-up for potential other projects.

Knit Madness

A friend pointed out that I like these tools because they remind me of my climbing gear, both in the sound they make when they clink together and the color-coded aluminum. I think she may be on to something. I found a BUCKET of needles at the local thrift store and now I have many.

Sunflowers & Daisies

I love to have friends visit...I use it as an excuse to plunder the garden for flowers, besides the great company.

Pedicure

Sometimes a little pamper goes a long way...my friend, Teresa, took me to my first pedicure. It was a llittle ticklish, but my feet are pretty for the first time.

Community Garden

I tried for more early season vegetables and got sunflowers and hollyhocks. It certainly is lush. So far the tomatoes are holding their own.

How Does your Garden Grow?

Mistress Mary...well. To follow up on court, my record is free and I spent the money on things I like in Flagstaff. I found a fabulous rolling art table at the thrift store and had dinner at Tinderbox Kitchen. Dinner was fantastic!

Making the most out of Lemons

It's my day for traffic court. I hope the Venus Transit makes things go in my favor. In fact, I'm bargaining for not guilty. I can admit when I'm going too fast. This wasn't it! Lovely adventure in Flagstaff though...

Watching Nature

Although I painted, not so well, because I'm discovering a new area and reading about Georgia O'Keefe at the same time, I am in need of nature to provide a little rejuvenation today. I believe I got it...
