Tidying Up

by Michelle Larsen-Bonner
I finished the Great White Throne watercolor. The piece will be for sale at the spring reception for me at DeZion Gallery in Springdale, Utah. Now I just have to paint 2-3 more of the same size, my biggest to date!

I'm close to completion of the BIG TREES handmade book which contains the images I've taken of Bristlecone, Redwood and Sequoia.

I wired one of Michelle Larsen-Bonner's gorgeous paper-mache birds to my re-purposed book/bird cage. It's called THE CAGED BIRD SPRINGS. I'm picking up another of her masterpieces to complete the project.

Stay Tuned...

Dream Tree Project

This is the first post I've made where I haven't made the item personally (yet!)

This was passed to a friend by Lanell Dike, www.breatheonelove.com.

Great White Throne Watercolor

It continues to make progess... I started to lose sight of my goal, so I quit for the day.

RePurposed Book

I bought the stand at a flea market with this idea in mind about two years ago. I'm cutting two hard back books and joining them in the center of the hanging candle holder. It looks like a bird cage, I hope. I'll add a paper-mache bird to complete the effect. Updates to come...

I also started a large watercolor today.

Purse Interior

I'm closing in on a few projects... I bought this cute little woven basket bag with no lining. In order to be useful, it needs to keep things in it! I designed a little two-sided insert that I sewed in. I even included a pocket. It's two-sided because the pattern shows through the weave.

I also finished the cashmere bathrobe eaten by moths. I shortened it and used velvet ribbon to line the bottom.

Cabinet of Curiosities II

Workspace in the studio is at a premium, so my little pieces of inspiration have found a new home. I covered the shelves in mustard cotton velvet and changed the knobs.

Feeble Excuses

I haven't been at my best operating level for a few days...still getting things done. The Arts to Zion event is coming up on Martin Luther King, Jr. weekend. Come out and support all the participating galleries and artists. I'll be at Blue Gate Studios in Virgin with watercolor paintings and photos.

I did make time to attend a little event last night, the Downtown Abbey premiere. It was a lovely evening with friends.

Earth Mover

It doesn't look like much, but considering where it started...the ditch was covered by big machinery, but I re-dug the irrigation system, planted native grasses and pulled what bark I had over it while the dirt was warm and pliable.

I'm grateful for a healthy body to just jump on this today...and we saved the tree!

Caterpillar Invasion

Great Party Steve and Deb! Happy New Year 2013!

I finished the chartreuse Peking Glass necklace and assisted Randy with the upheaval of our front yard today.
