Frida Installation

Fae Ellsworth brought in a number of Frida Kahlo inspired pieces which I then complemented with a consigned jewelry and clothing piece as well as the upcycled furniture piece I did. It's complete with candles, a Mexican tin candelabra from the 30s. In the past two days, I received a pair of well-loved leather boots that I thought completed the look, the paper flower I made and a knitted bunch of cacti from Becca. It's adorable!

Apricots Ready Soon

Lemon Magic

Better day, more comfortable in that ol' skin again. I ran across this prickly pear cactus variety exploding with perfect blooms today...in memory of veterans.

Showy Bird of Paradise

I needed color today to compensate for not quite fitting in my skin...that can be painful. My neighbors provided a dance, move the energy session and later a Cosmo. Nothing seems to have helped.

I saw too much today and can't choose between the treasures...new chandelier in play, flowers and so on. It did sprinkle a bit and things pepped up after a summery week.

In a Rut

It occurs to me that I haven't posted any interesting things lately, not like last year at this time...randy is away and I'm at the shop all day! So I took myself outside and found a little treasure...

Incredible Cactus

It's been a beautiful spring in the canyon...I'd venture to say that summer is here however...it arrived yesterday. Lovely visits from locals all weekend and great new patrons coming over from Las Vegas. Thank you!

Matilija Poppies from Coffee Filters

I found a how-to on the internet for making these coffee filter paper poppies. I call them Matilija Poppies. They are very cool and I used sewing pattern paper from the excess of previous patterns for the center of the poppy. I like the white and craft paper contrast without the color.
